A Lullaby for Older Children

Naked man, naked man
Knee-deep stuck in the July sand
Struggling, stumbling
All alone, little man?

What a fool, what a fool
Is there nothing you can do?
Drowning there little sheep
In this awful sandy pool

Will they cry when you die?
Hardly heard a single sigh
What a day, what a way
No one came to say goodbye

Little man, Little man
Remember always that you can,
Where you go where you’re going
Hold your head above the sand
